During my first pregnancy, I despaired at the lack of choice for maternity clothes. I found that many maternity clothes were made from cheap materials and often featured skin tight cuts. They were designed to be worn during pregnancy and then thrown out or put away in the cupboard until next time. I found myself wearing things I really didn’t like - I didn’t always want to wear skin tight dresses and tops – and then I chucked most of them away.
My Mum lent me her 80’s doowhoppers (jumpsuits) that she wore during her three pregnancies. These were a revelation – roomy, comfortable and stylish (although a little garish in 80’s colours!). This is where the idea for Beyond Nine was born.
You shouldn’t have to compromise on style just because you’re pregnant. You shouldn’t have to spend money on clothes that’ll only last you nine months. And you should always have truly comfortable clothes in your wardrobe (whether pregnant or not!).
Beyond Nine jumpsuits are designed to be worn regardless of whether you are pregnant. You can wear without a bump, with a bump and also post baby with easy access for breastfeeding if needed.
Beyond Nine is designed in London and made here in the U.K. and Portugal. You can follow the Beyond Nine journey on Instagram – please do tag your photos so I can see your wears in action!
I hope you love them as much as I do.
