Life Beyond August '25

Welcome back to Life Beyond, where I share snippets of things I've loved this month and the things I can't stop thinking about. Whether you’re after a great holiday read, a wardrobe refresh, or just a smarter way to manage your inbox while you’re away – I think there should be something here for you.

OUT & ABOUT

Charlie Sheppard at 8 Holland Street

I’d really like to go and see the new opening at 8 Holland Street in Bath, with Charlie Sheppard Studio. He makes artwork and pieces of furniture, which look really fun, vibrant and unique.

CULTURE

James by Percival Everett

My friend recently recommended James by Percival Everett and I read it in two days, which I rarely ever do. It’s really gripping, moves at a great pace and is an amazing story around resilience and fighting for freedom. I’d highly recommend it as a holiday read because you’ll just blitz through it. My husband’s reading it now, he’s also racing through it and he usually falls asleep after reading a sentence.

CLOTHING

Atlantic Coastal Supplies

I bought this really great beach bag last year in Cornwall, from Atlantic Coastal Supplies. They supply wetsuits, masks but it’s all really design led. They made this brilliant beach bag which is made from a really solid waterproof canvas and this webbed handle. We actually use it for weekly swimming with the kids, but it came in super handy on our recent holiday to Suffolk, fitting our 5 towels, swim stuff, suncream – basically everything. It’s truly a great family beach bag, and fits all your junk in.

WEARING

Vita Knitted Vest

I have been wearing the Vita V neck a lot lately. What I really like about it in black is that you can wear it casually with any pair of jeans but you can also dress it up a little bit. We’ve styled Vita with Mabel in chartreuse check for a day-to-night look in our Ways to Wear Edit as it can feel quite glam wearing it in the evening, going for drinks or for dinner. It really feels like it has endless options.

Bree & Tabby Tunic

Something I’m really into right now are tunics over trousers. We’ve got the Tabby tunic and Bree tunic and my favourite way to wear them is over one of our structural trousers. Their statement silhouettes really lend themselves perfectly to wearing underneath a tunic. I’m rotating between the Daisy trousers and the Bobbi trousers underneath mine at the moment and it’s my new favourite way to dress.

TOP TIP

Inbox notifications off

I recently learnt that in the Gmail app you can go to manage your account and turn off notifications for singular inboxes. So, during my recent family trip to Suffolk, I didn’t look at my emails almost the whole time I was away. So, that’s a highly recommended top tip for when you’re away if it’s possible for you.

COMING SOON

Peggy Jersey Top

We’re slowly transitioning into Autumn/Winter and we’re working on the release of a collection that reflects the change in seasons. We’ve got lots of new products launching which I’m very excited about: great trouser shapes and some beautiful premium knitwear.

A new piece I love wearing is the Peggy top in bone. She’s based on the Lily top, and is essentially an elevated base because the fabric is a really gorgeous, slightly textured, heavyweight cotton. It’s in this bone colour, which is a lovely creamy colour that is really easy to wear and goes with everything. I particularly love the detail down the centre of the front and back of the top.

As summer winds down, I hope you’ve found moments to pause, rest and enjoy with your loved ones and I’ll be back next month to share the little joys that carried me through September and into the new season.
